Does the Government Provide Free Phones Through Tribal Lifeline?
The free phone is a special offer provided by LTE Wireless to eligible customers who qualify for the Enhanced Tribal Lifeline Benefit and our Tribal Lifeline plans. The government’s Tribal Lifeline benefit only provides qualified customers with free phone service. Anyone participating in Tribal TANF may be eligible for free phone service and a free phone from LTE Wireless if they meet the necessary criteria. To apply for Lifeline with LTE Wireless, you’ll fill in your email, zip code, and identifying information to verify your participation in Tribal TANF. You will be sent to the Lifeline National Verifier website to complete the application and see if you qualify! If you do, you’ll be sent back to our site to complete your phone plan enrollment.
Which Free Phone Can I Get with Tribal Lifeline?
Currently LTE Wireless offers eligible Tribal customers a free Android smartphone. Available phones have 4G LTE compatibility, an Android operating system, front and rear cameras, touch screen, and Wi-Fi compatibility.
Are There Other Ways to Qualify for the Tribal Lifeline Program?
Yes! If you don’t have Tribal TANF, you can still qualify for Lifeline through participation in one of the below programs:
  • Medicaid
  • SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
  • SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Veterans and survivors pension benefits
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
  • Head Start (only households meeting the income qualifying standard)
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
Our Tribal Lifeline plans are not restricted to Tribal TANF either. Individuals living on federally recognized Tribal Lands may use any of these qualifying programs to enroll in our Tribal Lifeline plans.
